Day 1

Post by otntjesus »

I quite enjoyed this book because it brought out many good insights and truths about being God’s servant/shepherd. For example, “Biblically, the wilderness is a place of dependent, disciplined, purifying solitude where God must be trusted. Deserts bring people quickly to the end of their self-sufficiency and independence. This is so true that when I was brought to the “wilderness by God, I could not do anything but to just trust Him and allow Him to guide my path and provide my needs. One of the experiences was that when I was got sick more than 10 years ago, I felt so deserted and dry because I did not understand why I was going through the illness. But through this solitary place, I realized that God used the illness to discipline, purify and help me to put my faith in Him who knows what He is doing. In addition, I acknowledged that I had to let go of my self-sufficiency and be more dependent on Him. Because of the experience, I grew more in knowledge of God and when He does place me in the wilderness, it would always be for my own good. Only through experience like this, my spiritual life could be deepened.
