This meditation reminded me of the recent movie The Good Shepherd, in which Matt Damon’s character makes the chilling remark, “I am the gatekeeper.� (The movie’s title is somewhat ironic in that while the main character is indeed a good shepherd for America, he is an incredibly bad shepherd of his family.)
