Streams in the Desert

I grew up on a remote Island in the Bahamas. While traversing the dusty roads to and from school with my friends, it was amazing to see white sheets of rain fall feet away from us but would travel no further; we would not experience the ‘soaking’, though so close. Spiritually, rain is falling around many but because of man’s calloused hearts, and that they have forsaken or rejected the ‘Living Water’, they will remain parched, unforgiving and unrepentant.
How precious to know that with a good downpour or flashflood of God’s grace and manifest presence come the much-needed revival and spiritual awakening for man’s parched soul! When the season of drought succumbs to the abundance of rain, the flock no longer dies from hunger nor dehydration. Flow, river of God, flow, and saturate the desert of our souls!
