Good Cop/Bad Cop

Post by cahaynes »

My management style both secularly and in ministry has always been the type to never shirk or pass on responsibilities to subordinate those tasks that might appear confrontational or difficult/sensitive to handle when it comes to personnel. I understand Dr. Laniak’s perspective on “good cop/bad cop, however I’ve experienced favorable results with this approach. I have found the roles of “good cop/bad cop to be very beneficial secularly and in ministry if positioned correctly. The key that has produced good results for me is by first outlining the roles and responsibilities between the two players, and as long as there are clear lines of responsibility between the two cops everything should work in tandem. My experience shows “good cop/gad cop can alleviate some undo heartache, pain and embarrassment for those one is serving.
