When the under-shepherd falls asleep to replenish from a day of activities, it brings him peace to know that the Divine Shepherd never slumbers nor sleeps. He watches over the people of His pasture with an all-seeing eye and nothing escapes His view. He warns the shepherd of impending danger and equips him with the knowledge to defend himself. This world is filled with evil spirits that work through human kind, so, the shepherd and his flock must be alert to the schemes of the enemy and be skillful in using the God-given weapons of warfare.
